The recently celebrated XXII Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism of Chile has had an installation by the architects Smiljan Radić and Nicolás Schmidt, they created a metallic inflatable structure that was used as the inaugural stage of the biennial in the Chilean capital and which was the scene of the interesting deployed programming.

The installation was located in the Plaza de la Cultura of the Palacio de La Moneda, south of Plaza Bulnes, in front of Av. Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins in the Chilean capital.
Radić and Schmidt's proposal consists of a large silver inflatable structure in the shape of a bag, 30 meters long, more than 20 meters wide and 6 meters high, located on the grassy area near the avenue, whose image and temporality were to accentuate, explain the idea of the theme proposed for the festival, "Vulnerable habitats".

The large metallic bag presented a singular image, thanks to the ropes that wrapped it or held it so that it did not fly away. The structure was attached to 8 large fans that kept it constantly inflated, creating an igloo-like interior up to 6 meters high where chairs were located, with a capacity of 250 people, and a stage.

Access was through small slots on the sides of the structure that allow visitors and attendees to pass through while they remain inflated.

Programming was oriented around this theme, focusing on topics including the increase in informal housing, land seizures, the deterioration of public spaces, and the vulnerability of the environment.
