Masquespacio presents Mas Creations, their new brand through which they want to show their particular vision with an independent approach and with special attention to spaces, objects, and pieces of furniture.

The Valencian studio continues to work on projects with its Masquespacio studio, however, with Mas Creations they want to present their most personal vision: a universe full of textures, materials, and lots of colors, with products created by local artisans.
For this first launch of Mas Creations, which they intended to carry out during Milan Design Week, they have mixed photographs of their collections with a 3D interior campaign that pays homage to iconic interiors from the 70s, and that showcases their new collections within an environment.

The first two products are the "Too Much" rocking chair, a rocking chair that mixes color contrasts with materials and shapes, and the "Ball Pot" vase, which seeks to generate a unique emotion with its combination of wood and yellow marble.

Description of project by Mas Creations

For many years Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse have been reflecting on the evolution of Masquespacio as a creative studio and their passion for design. With Masquespacio the designers located in the Spanish city Valencia have been designing projects for commercial establishments both in Spain and in other countries and continents for 10 years.

"We have felt for many years the need to evolve more towards the artistic side and moving a little further than commercial projects are with another parallel project to Masquespacio."

Christophe Penasse, co-founder of Masquespacio and Mas Creations.

A couple of years ago a first attempt was made to launch that independent vision by launching the Dr. Workshop stool and the intention was to present the brand's official launch during Milan Design Week in April with a series of signature pieces of furniture. Composed of chairs, armchairs, and accessories.

“Due to the cancellation of Milan Design Week and the confinement for more than 2 months in Spain, we decided to focus all our efforts on turning that official release around and creating a universe that mixes digital with photography.”

Ana Hernández, creative director of Masquespacio and Mas Creations.

"We took advantage of the closure to make the Mas Creations project our priority and we began to develop more collections than expected and that we will launch little by little in the coming months."

Christophe Penasse, co-founder of Masquespacio and Mas Creations.

For this first launch of Mas Creations, the “Too Much” is presented, a rocking chair that mixes color contrasts with materials and shapes. Unusually it is pursued to combine colorful velvets with various marbles and stainless steel with that fun approach that represents the style of Masquespacio.

Also, the rocking chair "Too Much" is accompanied by the "Ball Pot" vase, a large vase that seeks to generate a unique emotion with its combination of wood and yellow marble. The "Ball Pot" vase with its striking shape allows it to also be used as an object without flowers.

The launch, on the other hand, is accompanied by a 3D campaign, inspired by iconic interiors and artists from the 70s. At first, you would want to choose only one place and reinterpret it, but as the creative process progressed, it was impossible to take just one reference. So the campaign gradually became Ana's dream house, which in turn is a very particular tribute, even to Frankenstein's greatest icons. In some of the environments, this reinterpretation is more latent and others are more nuanced. It should be noted that the idea was never to copy them, but to take these iconic spaces to the future and turn each one of them into the part of a house with its different rooms such as its room, bathroom, kitchen, etc.

We can see in the living room a clear reference to the Álvarez house (1974 - 1976) or the stairs of the Celine store in Milan designed by Sergio Asti in 1978, the kitchen of Arthur Elrod and the Joseph and Wiki Dennis house.

In all the rooms that pay homage to iconic spaces from the past, we can see how the Too Much armchair with its many contrasts becomes a character that contemplates the scene, not as a piece of furniture, but as another inhabitant of the house, presenting himself in illogical environments such as the bathroom and the hallway among others.

Mas Creations thus is a clear reflection of the graphic style with contrasts of materials and colors of Masquespacio and its process of often bringing the past to the future. Lastly, it should be noted that Mas Creations aims to work closely with local artisans in the production process of each of the new designs that will be created. New designs that will expand the collection and see the light in the coming months with biweekly releases.
