The First of June will open in London the new photography exhibition of the creative team _Marina_Morón, with a selection of their latest work "K:emptiness".

_Marina_Morón intends to reflect through this photographs of architecture the silence and solitude. This collection of images that will be at the The Fitzrovia Gallery, can be interpreted as a visual diary belonging to a fictional character exploring his surroundings, his memories and his space for living, as the organizer SCAN (Spanish Contemporary Art Network) has suggested.

Venue.- The Fitzrovia Gallery. 139 Whitfield Street, London, W1T 5EN. UK.
Dates.- From 1 to 21 June, 2015.

Description of the project by Marina Morón.-

‘Going through impressions in the form of personal notes, one examines and classifies some of the key images of a lifetime, the setting registered by memory, the sensory perceptions that arouse a most sensitive past. Travels, cities, and spaces are visualized from the need of remembrance, and the defence of the individuality of experience. An anonymous person uses photography as a means of expression, and manages concepts such us emptiness and colour in an attempt to face self-knowledge and the understanding of the surroundings environment.’

SCAN (Spanish Contemporary Art Network) is pleased to announce the first of a series of exhibitions in London this summer: "K:emptiness", featuring photographs by creative team _Marina_Morón. The displayed works are a selection from their most recent book of the same title. Visualizing silence and solitude through architectural photographs, the works are structured in evocatively titled sections (Eclairage, Instant South, She is asleep…) exploring themes of light, colour and place. This collection of minimalist photographs can be interpreted as a visual diary of a fictional subject exploring her surroundings, memories and rooms.

_Marina_Morón is the creative team of Jesús Marina, professor in Granada University, and Elena Morón, architect and researcher, whose work explores tangible connections between the image and architectonic space with an emphasis on the experiential qualities of colour and the concept of emptiness.

Elena Morón Serna, ETSAM (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid) Architect, ETSAS Honor Assistant and researcher (currently preparing a doctoral thesis in DPA-ESTAS).
