Presented for the first time two years ago at LLum BCN 2020, the Barcelona light festival, the interesting proposal created by Antoni Arola, promoted by SIMON, with the help of Júlia Rossinyol and Borja Suqué, is presented in Madrid, at the Centro Cultural de la Villa until next March 15, on the occasion of the Madrid Design Festival.

An immersive installation that gradually adapts to different spaces, and where light, sound and smell become the materials that build these ephemeral architectures.

Architecture, scenery, space, installation, design, art, light... The project is an immersive proposal to awaken the senses and consciousness, with the aim of making the visitor feel part of an illusion.
Architecture is created from light. Light as a construction material thanks to Antoni Arola's proposal, developed for the multinational SIMON, the first of these characteristics to participate in the Festival.

Non-existent spaces appear out of nowhere, mutate, mix, cut, dialogue and turn off. A mixture of visual, sound, and spiritual sensibilities is created and we approach, little by little, the intangible.

The actors are the public that walks inside this Garden, almost dreamlike...

This immersive proposal wants to “awaken the senses and the conscience with the aim of making the visitor feel like part of an illusion.” The designer creates architecture from light, an element that he uses as a construction material in a space designed for the visitor to contemplate the scenes and interact with the physical elements and volumes that appear and disappear.

Non-existent spaces appear out of nowhere, mutate, mix, cut, dialogue and turn off. A mixture of visual, sound and spiritual sensibilities is created and we gradually approach the intangible.

This installation invites you to take a free tour of the space both to contemplate the scenes and to actively interact with the physical elements and volumes that appear and disappear.

With this project, Simon goes beyond the solutions that he designs, manufactures and markets and contributes to the culture of light, since, by collaborating with a project like this, he makes us see, feel and understand it. Simon is the head of an industrial group specializing in technological solutions for lighting, light control, connectivity and electrical equipment for contract (retail, hospitality, workplaces) and residential projects.

For all these spaces, a firm commitment to design and innovation is maintained, which has led Simon, precisely in the year of its first centenary, to the National Design Award granted by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.

Antoni Arola. He was born in Tarragona in 1960 and now lives in Barcelona. He studied at the Eina School in Barcelona, and in 1984 began his professional career at the Estudio Liévore y Pensi. He subsequently joined the company AD Associate Designers and in 1994 founded Estudi Arola. His projects cover highly diverse fields such as lighting projects for various design firms like Santa & Cole,Vibia, Viabizzuno, pieces of furniture and perfume containers, as well as interior design projects and ephemeral installations.

He combines his professional career with teaching, workshops, artistic experimentation and research into light. His eternal and continuous investigation into beauty, inspired by ancestral cultures and his own particular way of looking at light, confer on him a unique versatility which filters through into each project. His work has been shown in individual and collective exhibitions around the world in cites like Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, London, Mexico, New York and Tokyo. Among other prizes, Arola has been awarded with the National Design Prize in 2003, four times winner of a Silver Delta Design Awards, and in 2012 winner of a Red Dot Design Award.
