The ADN_BCN Project project is the project by IED Barcelona students for the LLUM BCN 2017 festival in collaboration with FLUVIA. The proposal is being presented in Porxo del Saló del Tinell, an installation that represents the DNA of the city.
The installation is composed of ninety luminous tubes that draw a structure that symbolizes the DNA of the city, from the ancient Barcino of the IV century BC to the changes experienced by modern Barcelona. The proposal interacts with the public through sensors that capture the movement of visitors and make the installation change color, intensity and rhythm. These variations reflect the constant flows and changes that Barcelona is experiencing today.
The project was designed specifically for the space by students and alumni, starting from a workshop coordinated by Raffaella Perrone and Michela Mezzavilla. The installation is located in the Poró del Saló del Tinell, located next to the Cathedral of Barcelona, a very crowded space in which the different layers of history overlap.
