La Real Academia de España en Roma / The Royal Academy of Spain in Rome, founded in 1879, is located in San Pietro in Montorio, on the Gianicolo Hill, one of most beautiful places in the Eternal City. According to tradition, it was here that St. Peter was crucified upside down, by choice. Go to San Pietro in Montorio also it is possible following a Via Crucis, where the Academy is considered the end of the tour, the XV Station. Hence, the thread to start the exhibition of Fellows 2012-2013, the Academy as a metaphor for the crisis affecting the world of culture, an imaginary station where artists and researchers are delivered to the work of their search and creative research.
Estación XV supposed to overcome these vicissitudes and "Seasons" by seventeen artists and researchers Spanish and an Italian engraver who exhibited their works at the Calcografía exhibition hall of San Fernando, Goya rooms of prints and the Academy façade. The exhibition is a real artistic research lab where you can discover the subjective, personal and surprising reinterpretations about Rome.

Also you can know the works by researchers Cecilia Ardanaz Ruiz, Agustín Cocola Gant, Carlos Contreras Elvira, José Luis Corazón Ardura, Juan Agustín Mancebo, Enrique Martínez Lombó y Ana María Mogollón Naranjo.

Curator.- César Espada holds a PhD in philosophy and diplomat. He serves as Head of Departamento de Cooperación Universitaria y Científica de la Dirección de Relaciones Culturales y Científicas de la Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, which leads the Call for Scholarships MAEC-AECID for the Academy of Spain in Rome.
