Coinciding with the exhibition Cruz y Ortiz 1/200...1/2000 opened at the ICO Museum until January 22, 'The New Rijksmuseum' is screened, the documentary that shows the process of the reform of the well-known Dutch museum realized over 10 years by the architects Cruz and Ortiz.
In this film, directed by Oeke Hoogendijk, illustrates much more than the process of building or remodeling a building. Its contents cover all the difficulties involved in the radical transformation of an institution such as the Rijksmuseum: obtaining permits, delays produced, interventions by citizen associations, as well as the different moments of the museological process
On the other hand, this documentary highlights the capacity for self-criticism and freedom of access and recording in the Netherlands, which allowed the director to keep track of the whole process.
