It is obvious the relevance that generates any work the anonymous Bristol-born artist. now his original gallerist, Steve Lazarides, and Mayfair’s Lazinc gallery co-founder, Wissam Al Mana, have teamed up to showcase some of the artist’s most iconic and earliest works.
Banksy, Greatest Hits: 2002-2008, at London's Lazinc art gallery, is the first UK exhibition which allows visitors to see Banksy’s work all in one place; from stenciled canvases, to unique paintings, to limited-edition prints and many more. The show reaffirm how relevant the anonymous artist’s social and political comments are in today’s world, whilst letting art enthusiasts view works they may have never known existed.
Although you won't find any literal street-art pieces here, sure that you will recognize important pieces like: “Love Is In The Air” (2006), the front cover of Banksy’s “Wall and Piece” manifesto; “Girl and Balloon” (2006); and “Show Me the Monet” (2005), showing the artist's own twist to Claude Monet’s 1899 painting, “Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lilies”.
Banksy Greatest Hits: 2002-2008 is open now until 25 August at Mayfair’s Lazinc.
