ARCOmadrid is the ideal Fair for discovering new talents, with more than 60 proposals dedicated to one or two artists. In total there will be 219 galleries from 23 countries taking part, of which 164 belong to the General Programme, 13 to #FocusFinland, 29 to #Opening and 21 to #SoloProjects.
The International Contemporary Art Fair, ARCOmadrid, which IFEMA is organising from 19 to 23 February in pavilions 7 and 9 of the Madrid Fair, will be held for the 33rd year in the midst of a climate of more optimism and confidence. The improvement of the major economic indicators, along with tax reforms for purchasing art, paint some favourable conditions for activating the art market, to which the Fair contributes with an important programme of activities for international promotion directed towards collectors, prescribers and institutions of the main artistic markets.
A key strategy for promoting the main Spanish platform of the art market, which also relies on the confirmation of the presence of important collectors such as Anita Zabludowicz, Patricia Sandretto, Jorge Pérez (PAM Miami), Rolf A Hoff and Solita Mishaan, among others, or the Latin American Collection of Sayago & Pardo as well as other Spanish museums and institutions who will extend their funds in the Fair, in addition to a dozen delegations from North American museums who have confirmed the attendance of their directors accompanied by patron collectors.
In this context, and as a reflection of the greatest market confidence, the main section of ARCOmadrid -General Programme- will recover important international galleries, among the 164 firms it consists of, such as, Nicolai Wallner, Peter Kilchmann, Bob Van Orsouw, Andersen’s Contemporary and Kewenig, as well as other large galleries such as Ponce + Robles; Esther Schipper; Chantal Crousel; Vera Munro; Mehdi Chouakri; Vermelho; Gregor Podnar, Juana de Aizpuru, Oliva Arauna and Mai 36.
The Fair will take place over three working days – 21, 22 and 23 February - for lovers of contemporary art and public art in general, to whom certain services and facilities will be offered to obtain the best out of their visit. With the aim of providing access to a large number of visitors, on Sunday 23 February the price of admission will be reduced by 25%.
ARCOmadrid's event, which hopes to exceed 100,000 visitors from all corners of the world and all regions of Spain, will generate an economic impact on Madrid of more than 80 million Euros.
