ARCOmadrid_2011, the art fair, opens its doors on its 30th edition today and runs until Sunday 20th. The fair debuts a revamped programme and special activities to celebrate its first thirty years. National and international collectors will go to ARCO, where you will find a wide selection of works, both as technical contributions, periods and authors. On one hand, we have the Forum, which is centred this year on Russia, with a series of panels chaired by Daria Pyrkina, and others on Collecting, chaired by Rosa Martínez, director of the 51st Venice Biennale.

Masterpieces in 2011 ARCOmadrid
Some of the most quoted of the Fair can be viewed within the overall program with pieces such as the Madrid view at sunset from the building, Torres Blancas, portrayed by Antonio Lopez, the most valued work of a living Spanish artist will be exhibited at the stand Marlborough Gallery. Valued at over one million euros may also be a canvas by Lucio Fontana to be exposed by veteran ELVIRA GONZÁLEZ Madrid gallery.

ARCO also will feature masterpieces of the historical avant-garde and modern art, museum pieces as Femme en chapeau, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, who will present the Japanese Gallery BASE GALLERY trading at € 900,000. Along the same lines will find works such as Femme III / IV by Joan Miro, LELONG French room, with a value of 350,000 euros or a piece of Jacques Lipchitz that will be showcased at the booth of Marlborough, whose price is € 580,000.

FOCUS RUSIA: A selection of Russian contemporary art galleries and collectors invited to take part at ARCOmadrid_ 2011. This section will be rounded off with the presentation of major contemporary art projects to be presented to the public at ARCOmadrid.
