Both the headquarters and one of the interventions were chosen in an international competition. The winning project for the base pavilion, Urban Wedge by David Bergasa, consists on a striking red wedge, which relates to the city with a different dynamic during day and night. Its later stans also serve as a meeting point. María Beni Ezquerro, Isabel Castillón Gómez and Rocío García Samaniego were the winners of the competition for the design of the installation set in the courtyard of Ruavieja street. Their Hortus Conclusus occupies the bleak courtyard with panels representing the local "social fauna" and give more warmth to the space.
The French Gabrielle Vinson, Quentin Devoyer and Edwin Toledo designed the installation Urban Livingroom, a wood set that enables and allows a stop in a transitional space and access to the old town, normally used as a passage. The fragmented court: architecture for cats, by ESDIR students, focuses on the unification of a residual space from the cats which occupy the courtyard of the Museum of La Rioja. MAIO in turn uses the volumetric properties of a “calado” (cellar) to blur its inside in Boogie. The reflection of the tower of St. Bartholomew Church in a tilted mirror is the protagonist of 02 + 04 = Alexander Platz, by Javier Dulín, who proposes a different look to the square without interfering in the normal activity of the square. Daniel Montes and Sara Canalejas, through Artifacts, unify a square in the Old Town by a horizontal and vertically mounted common structural element. Hidden City by Fernando Abellanas, is a conquest by the small of a cloister normally closed to the public.
