Project description by Serrano Arquitectura

Architectural innovation at the service of talent, sustainability and international expansion
Prodesa, an Aragonese company specialising in the design and construction of biomass pellet plants, has opened its new headquarters in the Recycling Technology Park (PTR) in Zaragoza.

With an investment of 10 million euros, this strategic project centralises the company's operations, which until now had been dispersed across several centres, and reflects its commitment to innovation, sustainability and improving the work environment.

The project responds to the need to integrate all the company's teams in a collaborative environment that facilitates communication and optimises production processes. With this new headquarters, Prodesa reinforces its commitment to sustainability, workplace well-being and a corporate image that reflects its technological and innovative nature.

An office space strategically designed for people
With a surface area of 10,400 square metres, this project not only centralises its operations, but also redefines the concept of workspace, opting for an architecture designed to inspire, retain talent and improve productive efficiency.

In this sense, the project seeks to foster the sense of belonging and cohesion of the almost 200 workers who are part of the company, conceiving spaces as essential elements for collaboration and the well-being of people.

The central core of the building houses the technical engineering office, a spacious and bright double-height space designed to facilitate collaborative work. The human resources, administration and management departments are distributed around this strategic heart, guaranteeing fluid communication and a comprehensive vision of the business.

The rest areas, such as a large outdoor terrace and a rest room, are strategically located and visually connected to create a calm atmosphere that contributes to promoting well-being and work balance.

Innovation in spatial organisation and productive efficiency
The spatial continuity between the different phases of the production process that characterises Prodesa is another of the project's strong points. From the engineering area to the production plant, the project facilitates interaction between key departments, improving operational efficiency.

In addition to consolidating its operations in a single space, Prodesa has managed to reduce business costs and minimise travel, thereby reducing its carbon footprint.

Sustainability as a differentiating factor of the project
The north-west façade of the building has been designed taking into account sunlight. To avoid excessive heat in summer, set-back volumes have been incorporated that generate shade over the openings. This architectural solution reduces energy consumption in cooling and reinforces the aesthetics of the building, creating a dynamic play of shadows.

The use of sustainable materials and passive design strategies reflects Prodesa's commitment to caring for the environment and energy efficiency.

The project for PRODESA's headquarters not only responds to functional and operational requirements, but also redefines the concept of workspace from an innovative perspective. Its design promotes efficiency, well-being and sustainability, in a flexible environment with different ways of working, consolidating an architectural model that reinforces corporate identity and improves business performance.

PRODESA has managed not only to unify its productive activity, but also to create an environment that inspires, motivates and builds loyalty among its workers, thus contributing to excellence in corporate architecture.
