The interior of the project is made up of large spaces with white paint finishes, polished concrete floors, and wood carpentry; The openings are distributed throughout the space and have different qualities, some fulfill the task of framing nature objectifying it in the eyes of the viewer and others function as skylights that capture natural lighting and amplify it by reflecting it against the white of the interior.
Description of project by ARKRAFT
Located in a middle-class context, in a neighborhood of the '60s the house is inserted, made up of three volumes that contain the different activities of the requested assignment (a basic domestic program); these space containers, in turn, surround a contemplative garden to achieve privacy and shelter from the daily activities of the city.
From the street, the exterior of the house is hidden from the environment thanks to a large tree that protects and mimics it, a semi-floated volume welcomes us as a preamble built. The ground floor contains open and orderly spaces, they are discovered when entering, maximizing the spatial sensation due to the double-height of the hall, these spaces are finished off with an outdoor social area at the back of the house. The upper floor contains a couple of bedrooms and a study, which are always accessed in visual connection with all areas.
With its materiality and monolithic appearance, House Tres Cubiertas is the result of the arrangement and displacement of the projected volumes that in turn connect and configure voids with spatial duality.
The decomposition of its volume generates scenarios that complete the spatial experience. The openings frame the new built environment, the introspective environment generated.
