The prize has been awarded to the proposal titled Lights & Shine which is signed by the young designer Virginia Vallejo formed at IED Madrid. Lights & Shine is a project where fashion, technology and art go together in collaboration with the managers of the scenography, Bermuda Land. For her Samsung Ego performance, the designer has a scholarship of 10,000 euros, as part of the Samsung Ego Innovation Project award. She also will inaugurate the Madrid catwalk dedicated to new fashion talents on 23 February.
The collection, Lights & Shines, consists of 8 female prototypes doing with a puzzle of fabrics: lycra, latex, handmade embroidery and plastics that revolve around lights, the flashes and the effect of movement. Introspection to its past as a rhythmic gymnast, where proposals are transformed into sophisticated luxury brands, as the Swarovski embroidery. A series of wearables that become fashion accessories and advanced base of each styling.
Bermuda Land develops the scenography, through a system of hyperreality where images of a fashion film made for Samsung Gear VR interact live with the sound and movement of the models during the parade.
Virginia Vallejo assured that "this is a unique opportunity to develop an innovative project in which craftsmanship and technology come together with a collection entirely hand embroidered. They are two opposite poles that attracting." Cabanelas from Bermuda Land, said "it is a great career opportunity and a great challenge.
