On Monday, in Barcelona, Piovenefabi, a multidisciplinary Italian Studio, will give the lecture “Triangles” being part of Lecture Series Foros ESARQ 2015: “A Matter of Things”.

In "Triangles", Piovenefabi ask themselves the following questions: Where does one end and the other begin? How do culture and context influence the project? How can you work with the notion of scale? In the lecture, the founders of PIOVENEFABI will speak about how they approach urban projects from large scale to 1/1. The title “Triangles” refers to the way in which projects are related to each other through families, analogies and similarities, and how ambiguity is handled in urban design, architecture projects and object design.

Founded in 2013 in Milan by Amba Fabi and Giovanni Piovene, this studio focuses on the fields of architecture, urban research and territorial vision and design. The studio also participates in workshops, teaching, competitions, publications, etc.

Amba Fabi studied at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio and the École Nationale Supérieure de Paris-Belleville. She worked as art director and project leader at Architekturbüro Peter Zumthor (2007-2010). Giovanni Piovene studied at the Università IUAV di Venezia and the École Nationale Supérieure de Paris-Belleville. After working for the Shrinking Cities Office in Berlin, he co-founded Salottobuono in Venice (2007). He is currently collaborating with the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
