Royal Ballet's Lauren Cuthbertson on returning to dance as a mother

Behind the marvellous work, the sublime beauty and elegance that seems effortlessly conveyed by a prima ballerina of the London Royal Ballet, such as Lauren Cuthbertson, the injuries, the pain from the effort and the physical damage generated by the performances do not appear to the viewer, which is considered as an unavoidable consequence to act at that level.

The film was shot at English National Ballet’s studios at the Mulryan Centre for Dance, London City Island.

In this context of dance, Lauren Cuthbertson talks in her video about her experience of dancing again as a mother, after having a baby during the Covid lockdown. A return marked by her personality, feeling renewed, centred and with the same energy as always.

The music was created for the piece by the Serbian composer Nemanja Mosurovic.
