The title of the exhibition, Pareidolia, describes a vague and random stimulus usually represented by an image that is perceived in a recognizable way. Just as concrete forms are sought within the silhouettes that nature shapes in geographical accidents, Oliver Czarnetta uses that search to put before the viewer different works in which an active observation is defining to endow them with meaning.
The passage of time and its inexorability are present in each of these Czarnetta works. If on previous occasions the work was constituted as an allusion to the myth of Lethe, one of the rivers of Hades that caused complete oblivion to those who drank from its waters, on this occasion, incorporates another element: movement as another factor to consider, as in the current Heraclitus. A time that does not happen to our side, but that the spectator generates when moving on it. Thus, the active role of the public is re-alluded to, which leads him to another way of understanding the world around him and his position in it.
The lines of work of the sculptor deepen in this way the value of emotions and the way in which time influences perception. His works are executed spontaneously, allowing chance to intervene in the final result. "The passage of time is determined by the existence of movement, a value that influences our perception to show us the change of the world," says Czarnetta.
