The recently released "Monumental. Records et Merveilles de l'Architecture" [Monumental. Records and Wonders of Architecture] atlas includes a worldwide -eighty countries on the five continents- selection of architectural monuments from all ages.

The monuments selected in the book "Monumental. Records et Merveilles de l'Architecture", by the French Sarah Tavernier and Alexandre Verhille, are described to the reader through 188 illustrations accompanied by technical - date, construction duration, location ... - and curious - anecdotes , little-known information ... - facts. This attractive and straightforward format allows a very didactic reading of the selected works.

Spain is for example represented in the book by Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao), Santiago Calatrava's Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (Valencia) and Antoni Gaudí's Sagrada Familia temple (Barcelona). Not being sure about Santiago Calatrava as the best representation of Spanish national architectural monuments, the general selection of monuments is a good combination of the most significant examples of architecture from different eras.
