Six selected artists from the Matadero Madrid will participate on the first DO!DISTURB edition at the Palais de Tokyo, Paris.
Do Disturb, international festival of visual and performance arts
Matadero Madrid takes part next April in the first International Festival Do Disturb organized by the Palais de Tokyo, from Paris. Featuring the MOMA PS1 from New York, the Tate Modern from London, the Centre National des Arts Plastiques from France and Le FRAC Lorrain from Metz. For 60 uninterrupted hours, the Palais de Tokio in Paris will become the world’s capital of Visual and Performance Arts, thatnks to the collaboration of these centers, world referents on the contemporary art.
The final selection was in the hands of Jean de Loisy, in charge of the Palais de Tokyo, who selected six artists, out of the 22 most brilliant and, at the same time, challenging ones proposed by Carlota Álvarez Basso, director of Matadero Madrid and Manuela Villa, manager of the art program. The artists attending this first edition of Do Disturb are Cristina Lucas, David Crespo, Fernando Sánchez Castillo, Marco Godoy, Maya Watanabe and Los Torreznos, a duo formed by Jaime Vallaure and Rafael Lamata.
Focused on supporting the local artistic community, Matadero Madrid jumps now into the international scenario, hoping to achieve one of their goals: the promotion of local artists outside our fronteers.
The first Do Disturb edition, Viusal and Performance Arts International Festival, will take place in Paris on April 10, 11 and 12.
