The project was proposed first time in 2011. The drawings submitted proposed an abstract and utopian glass dragonfly flying over the Leopold Museum in the MuseumQuartier in Vienna, by architects O&O Baukunst. The new intervention is seen as a link to unite the most advanced programs with classical museum collections.

The proposal, which has just received its kick-off, is definitely inn on the rooftop of Leopold Museum, which was also designed in 2001 by architects Ortner&Ortner Baukunst. This new label for the museum district is a glass pavilion that from museum is peeking slightly over the central courtyard.

MQ Libelle, as have been baptized by the Vienna office, it was proposed with a panoramic lift that have to wait for 2016. The new facilities allow arrival to the pavilion through museum, in turn allowing use of museum terrace overlooking the entire Kaiser forum, and the rest of central Vienna.

The intervention has the support of the Austrian artist Eva Schlegel, responsible for the design of the facade of the glass pavilion, a design as they explain their architects, that allows, the curved glass facade, a reflection points and a wave motion. In addition, the pavilion "Dragonfly" will have a glowing "light shadow", an installation designed by renowned artist Kowanz.

The start of construction work is scheduled to begin in 2015, expecting that the works are completed in the fall of 2016.
