The aim of this International Ideas Competition is to focus on intervention in an area that constitutes a strategic opportunity in the urban regeneration of an enclave where various Bilbao neighbourhoods converge: the “Cantalojas Railway Cutting”.
• El certamen, sin cuota de inscripción y anónimo, está dirigido a estudiantes y jóvenes arquitectos, que podrán presentar sus propuestas hasta el 7 de septiembre de 2014.
• The Panel of Judges will also be awarding the “BIA Prize” to what it considers to be the best proposal, which has to be in line with the criteria established, and will designate two runners up for 2nd and 3rd positions:
BIA Prize: € 3.000
Runner Up: € 500
The ten most representative and outstanding proposals chosen by the BIA Panel of Judges will be put on public display in a highly visible location linked to the forum’s activities and within the city of Bilbao. This exhibition will include citizen participation (BIA Internet Judges) and a public vote for the ten pre-selected works.
At the same time, it will be possible over the BIA website to access all the proposals, and Internet surfers will be able to register their own votes (BIA Internet Judges). The vote will determine the winner of the BIA Internet Prize.
The competition is geared towards students of architecture or those who have recently graduated (within a maximum of the previous 5 years). Participants may enter the competition individually or in teams as long as all the members of the team meet the above condition of being students or recently graduated.
No advance registration will be necessary. To enter the competition, all that has to be done is to simply submit the documentation stipulated in the section “Submitting of Proposals”.
