In the framework of the Barcelona Design Week, Simon celebrates its centenary organizing a series of events that are taking place in emblematic places of Barcelona and Madrid. These acts are divided into 4 major events: The presentation of the new collection in a revolutionary space, a series of lectures on design, technology, architecture and business, the presentation of an international architecture award and a great exhibition that invites us to a travel over their 100 years of design. An invitation from the closeness of their products, everyday symbols and friendly design. Present in our most intimate spaces and exceptional witness of the evolution of the design throughout the twentieth century.
According to Luis Lopezbarrena, CEO of Simon Holding, 'this is an exhibition that invites visitors to take a tour along the 100 years of the company to stop and analyze the evolution of industrial design through some of the most iconic products of SIMON.' he adds ,'In addition it will also allow visitors to reflect on the application of technology in order to humanize and redefine the way we interact with our environment.'
Salvi Plaja, Design Director of Simon says 'The designs in the exhibition are organized by types, formats, materials and geographical areas that define the way the user has interacted with light. Thus the value of the adaptation to the user that that these designs have made is discoveres. They are called to turn much more than light in the near future.'
An invitation to their culture. To how, from fidelity to their own identity and their own values, the growth and the creation of a large industrial group is also possible. But especially an invitation to tomorrow. To the ability that these kind mechanisms have to evolve, always keeping their essence. Contact surfaces. Interfaces.
