The architects' studio Lucas y Hernández-Gil present their new project, a restaurant and cocktail bar in Seville. Set in a Retrofuturistic aesthetic, the materials are shown to the user in a clean way. The neutrality of exposed concrete is contrasted with a palette of electric colors used in furniture, and at night, with a neon lighting, which manages to color it.
To enhance this futuristic environment, the installations have been left views, dispensing with surcharges in the decoration. This same criterion has been followed in the design of the furniture, carried out by the architects themselves. The objective is to focus the user's attention on the food, both in the elements that collect it and in the gastronomy itself.
The geometric figure protagonist, the circle, is used in the main lighting, but also to generate and open new perspectives and views inside the restaurant through gaps and mirrors. It is also the protagonist in chairs and tables.
Description of project by Lucas y Hernández-Gil
In a context in which many locals pursue a revival of past times, the Casaplata project has been a commitment to the future, for a unique and own image, away from nostalgia.
As if it were a Morandi bodegón, we looked for a poetized vision of everyday objects. On a neutral background, silver gray, the pieces of furniture stand out; manufactured in colored perforated plate, rotund and subtle at the same time. Thus, by blurring the environment in a vaporous atmosphere, attention is focused on what is at hand: glasses, plates, bottles ... thus reinforcing the gastronomic experience.
Lighting has been designed with special attention. Through the game of colors and reflections it transforms the space throughout the day. It is, with the help of music, the protagonist of the staging.
