According to the jury: “Two fantastic works by two architects who have been demonstrating the great quality of their work throughout their professional career. Sesc 24 de Maio is an example of rehabilitation, of generation of spaces, of creating a place to welcome, a place full of life where each use has found its perfect “hole” in the building. The Climate Museum in Lleida is also an example of creating public space, loaded with poetics, and with a careful use of materials.”

The Ibero-American Architecture and Urbanism Prize is awarded ex aequo to César Ortiz-Echagüe Rubio (Madrid, 1927) and Jorge Enrique Scrimaglio (Rosario, 1937).
“Both architects have been a solid reference for Ibero-American architecture over the years from its strong marginal and peripheral condition. His figures have remained hidden and away from the media circuits but their architectures have managed to multiply their interest over the years until being at the center of contemporary discourse.”
