Desinged by Pulgón Diseño studio, the "Cradle to Cradle" idea (use of sustainable materials) present at Expo Floriade has been applied. The spaces thus designed refer to cyclical and continuous nature as added and indispensable values in a current conception of sustainability and use of natural resources.
Some of the materials employed in the construction of the pavilion have had previous uses. For the flooring there are boxes and containers that had previously been used for transporting products such as fruit and vegetables, with the different wooden parts being mechanically affixed on to a flat board surface (made from recycled nut shells) and giving it a unifying finish based on adhesive glues and resins.
The building, seven meters high, gives the space continuity through a formal gesture that unifies the entirety of the available surface space. Formally, the allusion to something as natural as topography and plant growth becomes an argument to unify the external encounter spaces in continuity and connect them with the interior display spaces, always visually linked through highly permeable enclosures that evoke vegetation.
