Symmetries Architecture Workshop Winter 2012 Rome, a joint venture between Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, Università degli Studi Roma Tre Facoltà di Architettura and Universidad Europea de Madrid, will focus upon conceptual aspects to do with the overlapping of latent past and a present uses of urban structures, so visible in ordinary Roman life.
Taking old Teatro Marcello as a case study and diving into its successive incarnations over the centuries (market, renaissance palace, housing, warehouse,…), the workshop will unveiling temporal and physical layers and make them operative as working material for architecture.
