The purpose of these scholarships is to stay at the Spanish Academy in Rome for Spanish and Latin American creators, artists, researchers, writers, thinkers, designers, with a consolidated or promising career in their respective disciplines, for the development of artistic or research projects during the academic year 2012-2013.
These scholarships seek to offer the possibility of carrying out a project at the Academy that contributes to making this institution a platform for the international projection of the creative culture of Spain and Latin America, taking advantage of its privileged location in Italy, thus serving at the same time to reinforce the image of Spain in Europe as well as the link with this country through close collaboration with Italian cultural institutions.
The deadline for applying for these scholarships and submitting the documentation required in the call is from March 1 to 22, 2012. In this call, scholarships may be awarded in the following disciplines:
- Architecture
- Architecture in restoration of artistic and cultural heritage (Fundación Rafael del Pino)
- Literature (Valle-Inclán Scholarship)
- Photography
- Cinema
- Performing arts
- Aesthetics and Museology
- Theory, analysis and criticism of Fine Arts
- Music and Musicology
- Sculpture
- Painting
- Videocreation
- Grabado
- Others (Design, fashion design, graphic design and net art, comic, etc.).
The Directorate of Cultural and Scientific Relations of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) manages these grants through its Department of University and Scientific Cooperation (Avda. Reyes Católicos 4, 28040 Madrid).
