The new building by Rafael de La-Hoz for the Teaching Center for Córdoba University is a cubic volume of concrete and glass that is integrated within the Renfe urban development.

Rafael de La-Hoz team proposes a weightless volume in which contrast between the concrete and glass façades defines the project. There is also an extra work on these façades through setbacks and openings that enrich the vision of the building from the street.

Description of the project by Rafael de La-Hoz

Located on a trapezoidal plot within the Renfe development plan 2- one of the areas of expansion of the city of Córdoba, the building presents a weightless appearance, accentuated by the contrast of its façade materials: glass and concrete.

The new teaching center is integrated into the urban environment where it is placed. Its north façades, with double skin, east and west are solid micro-concrete with gap opening, illuminating the inside of the enclosures. The south façade is made of glass and with recessed areas.

With a total of 5,448 m2, the building has five floors, intended for teaching purposes, and two underground basements where several stores and garage are provided.
