In order to obtain it, the studio Enguita & Lasso de la Vega has used geometrics that respect: firstly the existing construction; secondly, the local topography and, lastly, the vegetal environment.
Description of project by Enguita & Lasso de la Vega.
Building a music studio for a composer is the main reason for the extension of a single family house located in the residential area “El Peñalar” in Torrelodones. The extension consists of the execution of a series of interconnected volumes as “climber boxes”. The first of them, a built above ground prism, has a basement intended for studio; the second one, in the ground floor, is intended for bedroom; the third one holds the connection stair and, finally, the forth built volume is located over the actual house´s roof, and its use is intended for composition studio-room.
Project´s geometry respects both the existing topography and the natural environment where the house is located, adapting itself to preexisting conditions. New built volumes have a close formal relation with the existing building, to which they are attached and over which they lay, both in floor and elevation, and differ from it in building systems and facades´ treatment.
