Archimontage Design Fields Sophisticated designed this apartment block in the Latkrabang district, south of Bangkok. This project aims to support the urban growth that this area is experiencing, due to the new location of Bangkok's main airport just fifteen minutes from the area.

Archimontage Design Fields Sophisticated designed a set of 68 rooms that follow 7 different patterns, opposing the stereotype of "cheap" design that can be found in apartment buildings.
Description of project by Archimontage Design Fields Sophisticated
The project is in Latkrabang district, only fifteen minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport by car. Since the main airport moved from northern Bangkok, Don Mueang, to this southern suburb ten years ago, this medium-sized, semi-industrial communities and residential areas have significantly been transformed into a new phase.
These conditions and factors encourage the construction of this project in order to support urban growth. On the plot of 313 square wah land on Latkrabang Road where the front faces 6 lanes on the south, the 3,377 square-meter utility space consists of 68 rooms in 7 patterns.
All rooms scatter around a rectangular floor plan where the space in the middle is scooped out to put a main stairway and an elevator. There is also a space for technical equipment and other services such as a laundry room, a control room and a storage. The parking lot is partly under the building, partly outdoor.
Normally, economic reasons and arrangement of pipeline system leads to a typical type of apartment design, making most apartment buildings look plain and boring with repetition of blocks and grids. This has limited design development for both the interior and the exterior of the buildings. The solution is to replace it with an untypical type; turning from the tangible to the intangible, exploring some new aesthetics and perception. It is necessary to eliminate this stereotypical “cheap” design commonly found in apartment buildings to something else.
