The video explores, through dance, the Japanese concept of time and space in an Icelandic ice storm. This concept is difficult to understand but could be translated as "place" if we consider interpretations such as those of the geographer Yi Fu Tuan.
Japanese is a language with a special appreciation for certain phenomena and situations, such as the moon's reflection in the water, the therapeutic relationship of people in contact with the forests or the sunlight filtered in a shadowy space.
“Ma” is an experimental video by director Neels Castillon, who tries to capture this Japanese concept through dance, in which space, time and movement are related, thanks to the interaction of the body with a space and its transcription in memory.
“It was an obsession for me to find a place where you could feel the immensity of nature.”
