Vitaliti (Buenos Aires, 1978) studied Fine Arts at the National School Manuel Belgrano in Argentina's capital. Since 2002, he lives and works in Barcelona as an art director and illustrator advertising. His most recent work is centred on the comic. But not only as an artist but also as a manipulator.
«En mis trabajos desmenuzo el lenguaje del cómic, aíslo ciertos elementos esenciales del medio, los combino y aúno para alterar los efectos narrativos y hacer visibles otros elementos. La apropiación, la intervención, el collage, el dibujo o la instalación son las estrategias que utilizo para reinterpretar el patrón visual del medio».
Vitality exhibition at the ABC Museum finds characters with special roles as Tintin (whose slip gives rise to a large mural of concatenated actions), Bambi (who leaves his own vignette in a game of shadows) or Corto Maltese (in a 360-degree representation that introduces the audience to the reality of the comic, even through rotary motion which is what gives meaning to the piece). One last character, Superman, protects the world from catastrophe by holding it over his shoulders.
The ABC Museum Drawing Prize, is more than just a prize, is the ability to display the winner's work in an exhibition that explores his work in depth.
