The work of Aitor Lara addresses different issues related to sociocultural values and the concepts of identity and anonymity, suggesting the viewer new ways to understand the contemporary reality. His work in different countries allowed him to explore and deeply understand the lifestyles and the anthropological dimensions of various social minorities and even secret societies.
"Aitor Lara's photographs propose a return to the ambivalences of documentary portraits and the contextualization through the image. They offer us a decisive, thorough and specific journey, on the level of a doctoral thesis which advocates for photography and not words, deepens into the lack of socio-cultural values, their voluble significance and sickly character, both the identity and anonymity, contribute to society today, whatever part of the world where the staging of human terminology is captured."
