2025 Sony World Photography Awards has announced the winners and finalists of its latest edition in the OPEN category, recognizing the talent of amateur photographers in the field of architecture.

Among a group of fourteen finalists, Xuecheng Liu of China took home the top prize in the Architecture category thanks to his striking capture "Centre of the Cosmos," a wide-angle overhead view of Times Square, transforming it into a vortex of urban energy.

The finalists also explored architectural monumentality with images of Zaha Hadid's Antwerp Port Authority and Hong Kong's imposing Yick Cheong Building, known as The Monster. The professional Architecture & Design competition will soon reveal its winners. In the meantime, the stunning images selected in this OPEN category are now available to admire. The prestigious title of Open Photographer of the Year will be announced on April 16, 2025.
