Among the 2000 entries this year, 24 photographers were chosen in 6 categories: Exterior, Interior, Sense of place, Buildings in use, Mobile, whose theme this year is Greening the city and Buildings with history. Below is a selection of shortlisted photos from each category.
The jury will judge and discuss the shortlisted images live on November 30th as part of the World Architecture Festival — The Digital Edition. During their deliberations, the panel of judges was asked to "look beyond the architecture, consider the composition, use of scale, and the photographers’ sensitivity to atmosphere."
The photos will be on display at WAF China in Chendu from November 4-7, and at WAF Interactive Digital from December 1-3, where delegates will be able to vote for their favorite shots.
On December 3, three awards will be announced: the Overall Award, the Portfolio Category Award, and the Mobile Category Award, with two winners in each category.
