Arcaid announced the shortlist for the Arcaid Images Architectural Photography Awards 2016. The 20 shortlisted photographs will be exhibited at this year's World Architecture Festival in Berlin between 16-18th November., with an overall winner announced during the event's gala dinner.
The Arcaid Images Architectural Photographer of the year Award highlights the expertise of the specialist architectural photographer, translating the sophistication of architecture into a readable and understandable two dimensions, to explain and extol the character, detail and environment of the project.

The judges for this year's award are executive editor Emily Booth of The Architectural Review, curator Amy Croft curator of Sto Werkstatt, Katy Harris who is head of communications at Foster + Partners, architect Kai-Uwe Bergmann of BIG and photographers Fernando Guerra and Ulrich Müller.

Judge Emily Booth, Executive Editor, The Architectural Review said "It was a privilege to help judge these awards – and the range and quality of photographs was impressive. For me, the images that particularly stood out were the ones that made you pause, that invited you to explore the picture further, and that challenged preconceived ideas."

Photographs are shortlisted under four categories: Exteriors, Interiors, Sense of Place and Buildings in Use.
