Eight years after the release of his first album, the French artist Yoann Lemoine, known as Woodkid, unveiled the album S16 in October 2020. The title S16 is the chemical description for sulfur. For Woodkid, chemical reactions are something magical which can be something attractive but also something toxic.

Nominated in the category Best Music Video in the 2021 Grammy Award, the single Goliath marks a return to the spotlight for the artist. A powerful blend of industrial and futuristic sounds and buttery vocals. The video is set in a coal mine in the Czech Republic and creates a dystopic world where the industrial machines become more powerful than the workers in coal production.
The scenography of the video shows the working conditions of people in coal miners and represents how small man can be in society. To intensify this feeling, a cold and dark color palette is used on which some yellow and blue elements stand out. The visual narrative is synchronized with the growth of the music. The coal trembles to the beat of the percussion and the giant smoke monster awakens as the music becomes stronger.

Goliath is about individual and collective responsibility in creating the monstrosity and the hope of being able to overcome it.  The song refers to the biblical story of David and Goliath and echoes the current world situation, where the dominated can defeat the gigantic.

Lyrics.-
The chest and the head divided by a white laser
A pattern of mad strobes, you're going haywire
In your eyes night cold, I see the end of us
You're playing your best role but the mask shatters

Where are you going, boy?
When did you get so lost?
How could you be so blind?
How could you be so blind?

A sustained, heart pain and a dark fever
How did I get fooled by such a savage curse?
The more I forgive you, the more it backfires
Now you're dancing through the smoke like nothing else matters

Where are you going, boy?
When did you get so lost?
How could you be so blind?
How could you be so blind?
