Cannubi On Fire follows the cycle of nature and interacts with it. He does this by carefully intervening in the area between one row and another, in order not to disturb the rest of the precious sleeping vines, during a period of time when nature is resting in preparation for a new beginning.
Description of project by Emilio Ferro
From the 1st of December 2021 till the end of March 2022, the site-specific installation Cannubi On Fire by the artist Emilio Ferro, comes alive again, Illuminating the Barolo vineyards around the Astemia Pentita winery. Cannubi On Fire is a project that will return yearly, following the cycle of nature.
Immersed into the Langhe landscapes, through 30 illuminated rods of a corten metal structure, over five meters high above the ground, the artist interprets the symbiotic relationship between man and nature.
The artwork interrupts the geometry of the vineyards, recreating, with light, a renewed visual harmony in a place where the vineyard is a characteristic anthropic element of the rural landscape. Cannubi On Fire follows the cycle of nature and interacts with it.
It does so by carefully intervening in the area between one row and another, in order not to disturb the rest of the precious sleeping vines, during a period of time where the nature is taking a rest to prepare for a new beginning again, illuminating and respecting its treasures.
