BLANCANIEVES, by Pablo Berger, shot in black and white and silent, is a fusion of images and music that tells the story of Carmen (Snow White) played by Macarena García, a beautiful girl with a childhood tormented by his terrible stepmother, Encarna (Maribel Verdú). Running away from her past, Carmen will undertake an exciting journey accompanied by his new friends: a troop of bullfighters dwarves.
After its presentation at the International Film Festival of San Sebastian, the film was released on September 28th. It has also been chosen by the Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences to represent Spain at the Oscars in Hollywood and the Ariel Awards of the Mexico Academy.
The soundtrack has been created by Alfonso de Vilallonga, and the production company offers the chance to see the film with live music in a tour around different locations.
