Augmented Shadow is an experiment that produces an artificial shadow effect using blocks over a tabletop interface. The objective is to offer a new type of experience to the user where shadow transform objects and seemingly give life to the human creatures the occupy the houses. By moving the objects across the table, they transform shadows, creating a fantasy world where with people, trees and birds.
In this installation, the shadows exist as a real environment as well as a virtual one, playing with the creation of a metaphor that connects the virtual world to its users. These same users can manipulate blocks to create new perceptions and new worlds, forming the shadows they want, playing with light and with the limits of reality and fantasy.
Technology offers us new creative possibilities and connections between people and machines. Starting June 21st, you can try this interaction or other pieces at the exhibition, Interaction Laboratory. The senses of machines (I/O/I) which runts until 2012 it Espai 1 at the DHUB (Montcada, 12).
