"435 prepared dc-motors, 2030 cardboard boxes 35x35x35cm | Zimoun 2017"
Using simple and functional components, Zimoun builds architecturally-minded platforms of sound. Exploring mechanical rhythm and flow in prepared systems, his installations incorporate commonplace industrial objects. In an obsessive display of simple and functional materials, these works articulate a tension between the orderly patterns of Modernism and the chaotic forces of life. Carrying an emotional depth, the acoustic hum of natural phenomena in Zimoun's minimalist constructions effortlessly reverberates.
Next to the work in Denmark Zimoun presented a site-specific installation at the Contemporary Art Museum MBAL in the small town called Le Locle in Switzerland. The video of this work can be found here: https://vimeo.com/197026116
At the end of this month, on March 25, Le Centquatre (104.fr) in Paris will present Zimoun's largest solo exhibition up to date which will be on display from March 25 until August 8, 2017. The exhibition will be based on 8 large scale and site-specific works.
A brand new video which got uploaded just this very moment. It shows one of the largest installations realized by the Swiss Artist Zimoun up to date.
