The London based artist Rod Hunt has drawn a huge illustration of ten different families and their apartments for the latest russian campaign for IKEA, representing the brand’s furniture solutions suited to each individual’s unique and diverse lifestyles. Commissioned by instinct BBDO, the large-scale, intricately composed image has been used in a book written by Russian Children's author Grigory Oster & as an online game.

Rod Hunt was commissioned by Instinct BBDO to illustrate their new Russian campaign for IKEA. A huge illustration of ten different families & their apartments was required to represent IKEA furniture solutions suited to each family's lifestyles. The illustrations were used in the book written by Russian Children's author Grigory Oster & as an online game.

The book-catalog contains detailed stories about different quirky families and the activities they participate in as a unit — whether it be toy collecting, outdoor adventures, musical instruments, baking or even lounging around — and how each IKEA product becomes a part of their home and habitat. The illustration imagines and visualizes what types of IKEA items might grace the walls of the fictional families’ living rooms, which shelves they might use to catalog their possessions, the sofas they might sit on and the beds they might sleep on. Accompanying the illustrations are photographs of the imagined scenes, depicting the real families in their fantastic and colorful homes.
