Last 5th of May 2015 the jury commented the high level of the 34 proposals which have accessed to the second phase of the competition Astronomy Center Red Sand organized by reTH!NKING platform, for selecting, after that, the winning proposals.
Highlight the big number of awarded proposals by students of Spanish Schools of Architecture, as Seville, Alcalá de Henares, ETSAM, San Pablo CEU or ETSAB, as well as the quantity of projects submitted from other countries. Congrats colleagues!
Now we bring you the three winning proposals. Below them you can see the whole boards presented both by the winners and by the honourable mentions.

"Astronomy Center Red Sand". The builidings to work with were The Sea Forts, in the Maunsell Sea, approximately 8 miles away from the nearest British coast. The program to develop was an Astronomy Center that would have an observatory, a planetarium, an agora, conference room, workshops and provision of accommodation for between 30 and 50 people. For accommodation it was required to have kitchen, dining room and common areas, besides the rooms and bathrooms (individual or collective).
It was able to interven on the existing buildings or outside them, always incorporating them as part of the project. The intention of the contest was to study the conections, access, use of roof, waste management, water supply, energy sources, and how to cope with climate and maritime aspects.
