What for some is trick, actually has the virtue of being a patient job and with a clear objective. Ignacio Pereira applies an editing process that is very simple and known by any Photoshop specialist. However, the true value of these images lies in achieving an unified image in light, color and framing. It does not depend so much on the technique but on a more personal vision, its creative vision.
The shooting process is performed with a camera on a tripod, capturing pictures in bursts of 20, 30,... What appears in one, disappears in the next and the overlap of images, allows to go decanting the static parts in front of others in motion. At the end he performs the correction of light and volumes. Ignacio Pereira also includes or leaves through these lonely landscapes to one of the characters caught between people, their size gives scale to the image, however the isolated caracters from their original environment, their presence on the pictures, converts them in poetic-tense-intriguing images. A project realized in Madrid, that could find its origins in which they developed Lucie and Simon, Franco-German artists, between 2009 and 2012 with the project Silent World.
Ignacio Pereira, generates large-format images, with careful elaboration and brilliant ability to frame, retouch and generate a unique and singular work, a Madrid without people, as beautiful as it is disturbing.
The series consists of 27 photographs with an edition of 20 signed units each. They are sold without a frame. Pereira encourages our to see them physically. "They impact a lot, the quality of the print is 16 bits, in HD and with natural inks, it's spectacular, they look perfect, the biggest ones measure more than a meter on all sides."
Ignacio Pereira is a creative director and photographer, 38 years old, who through a laborious editing process, has managed to capture some of the most characteristic places of Madrid without people in its streets.
