The yet-to-be-built house project designed by London based Whitaker Studios, led by James Whitaker, was a viral sensation two years ago. Now, the property has gone on sale for €2.86 ($3.5) million before construction has even started.

Named "0 Wagon Wheel Road" the house will be locate on 9.1 hectare (22.5 acre)  plot, less than 1.6 km (1 mile) from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, California. An unparalleled natural beauty site, at the finest point in Monument Manor.
Shipping container house, and its spectacular crystallographic shape, has gone up for sale on a number real estate sites. According architect, James Whitaker, construction is scheduled to begin in the middle of next year.

"We are currently working with Giant Containers who are based out of Toronto. They are going to do the metalwork component of the build and all being well construction will start in the middle of next year."

The listings, which include floor plans and renderings, show that once built the house will be formed from an "exoskeleton" made of shipping containers painted white.

The Whitaker Studio’s home is 200 square metre (2,153 square feet) and features three ensuite bedrooms, a kitchen, and a spacious living room. Each container according to James Whitaker is “oriented to maximize views across the landscape, or to use the topography to provide privacy, depending on their individual use.”

"The home's exoskeleton of cuboid forms emanate in all directions oriented to capture the sheer beauty of the vistas, sky and desert-scape. A stark interior comprising concrete flooring, white walls and minimal furnishings. Incredible rock formations, private mountain, panoramic basin views and hundreds of Joshua Trees. Ideal for stargazing, horses and those who seek tranquility for their spiritual, meditation or yoga practices. Multiple flat sites to choose from that offer both astonishing desert scenery and privacy. The height of rare and natural beauty, this property makes for an incredible site for your dream compound or weekend getaway."
