The interest in mineralogy and geomorphology, as well as years of progress made in the field of Human Rights, who played mainly as a human rights advocacy consultant and educator, are experiences that carries in his photographic work that has prestigious publications and international awards.
Roma caput mundi and Babelyulin are a travel journal of the larger project "flâneur in the XXI century", in which Tuccillo Castaldo is a metropolitan "Flâneur" , borrowing the term introduced for the first time by Baudelaire, which later Walter Benjamin adopted to define - in the Marxist perspective - the modern figure of urban observer. In this work, in fact, Tuccillo Castaldo, analytical observer of the urban fabric, brings together the social and aesthetic descriptions of the city, which synthesized through another vision of architecture. She builds a simultaneous reality around the need to provide surprising revelations, unpublished spatial sequences as one way to approach and interpret construction and buildings.
The artist uses the multiple exposure technique in a variable number, from a minimum of three and a maximum of ten images, without having to use photomontage in post processing to manage to reach images close to Icomena: unsettles the identity identity and the iconic recognition of places and architectures, going back to the past, only after a rebuilding process that occurs in the memory of the viewer.
The trip begins with the story, the tension between secular and temporal power: between naturalness and artificiality, historical and cultural stratification of Rome are compared to standardized Lyulin communist-inspired class district of Sofia, built by the communist regimes in the seventies. The very interesting result , shows an imaginary reality of the sublime and intensity of expression.
