Tokyo Blur is artist César Ordóñez's new project in Japan. The fourth project developed in the city of Tokyo and the name of his third solo exhibition in Barcelona.
The exhibition consists of about fifty black and white images which were mostly taken at night and often show a high degree of abstraction. They take the enigmatic, sensual city of Tokyo and are, just like the title suggests, "blurred".
In 2013, this project was awarded a Research and Creation Fellowship by the Co NCA.
"I'm in Tokyo. It's dark and raining. Everything blurs around me. The faces, lights, the times I’ve gone through. I feel myself fading away, losing control. I’m not worried, far from it: a sense of stillness, recognition and renewal flows through me. Beyond the first mists that hampered my sight, everything now comes limpid, crystal clear. I begin to tidy up my lifetime, trying to comprehend why I came here".
