Fernando Rivera Salvador (1977) is an architect graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (2001) specialized in ArchitecturalDesign. He created Taller de Arquitectura FRS in 2003 and operates from Quito and Guayaquil – Ecuador.
He worked hand by hand with Jose Maria Sáez Vaquero and Handel Guayasamín obtaining the first place for the architectual urban landscaping project called “Entrada para Quito” sponsored by the city’s municipality. He has also worked in several architectual projects with private companies and banks and also with public and government institutions such as: National Police, Corte Constitucional and Education Ministry. Some other projects included a full renovation: “Casa Helvetia” (built in 1920), “CentralBanck-Economics National Museum” (built in 1926), “Casa 707” at La Ronda (built in 1896) among others. Some urban landscape designs made for the EPMMPO-Q (Parks Management) in Quito, Riobamba, Otavalo and Guayaquil include the “Mega Cultural Center Quitumbe – Silos de Quito”, “Culture´s Agora” “Poncho’s Market” in Otavalo, “Extreme Park” in Penipe, “The Wisdom Plaza with the urban landscaping sculpture “Quito Sol Recto” and “The Memorial Plaza with the Solar Feather sculpture” in Guayaquil.
In 2012, he won the First Honor Prize given by the Cultural and Patrimony Ministry with his architectural sculpture called “La Luz de Alfaro”. In 2015, he got the First Honor Prize with his landscaping project/sculpture “Plaza de la Victoria de la Paz” given by the Ecuador Defense Ministry. In 2016, jointly with the Embassy of France, his architectual landscaping project called “INTI NAN” (Five temples throughout the Equator line) was boosted and exposed by him at the Quito’s Cultural Center and also at the Architectures School in Cuenca.
Among his award distinctions, stand out: The Oswaldo Guayasamín Visual Arts Award gotten in 2014. His artwork has been published in the visual, printed and social media including Architecture books and magazines.
