The plot on which stands the Park was a degraded area without equipment and acting as a barrier between the two neighborhoods. The Music Park is one of the unique actions on redevelopment and urban integration associated with Subway Line 1 infrastructure in Seville, which began in January 2009. In its gestation, projects were developed with the active participation of neighborhood associations in the surrounding districts.
The intervention, with an area of 32.487 square meters, ensures accessibility to the Cocheras station, located in the centra plateau of the park, and the access of residents from homes that are located on both sides. It has a double purpose: a more cohesive, regenerated city, with better internal relations, and a more human and pleasant city un its daily experiences.
The space is organized by a major north-south route in soft ramp that allows to reach the station height. In this longitudinal route are other cross-linking departing from between the squares and streets. In the eastern edge the level difference is saved through streets that climb the field forming slopes that protect the neighborhood level squares. On the west side the height difference is solved by a wall parallel to the subway tunnel and develps curve to define the western entrance with a ramp.
The pavement comes from a stretch of some existing tiles in the Patio de las muñecas of the Reales Alcázares in Seville. The curved wall with 274 meters long and with a maximun height of 7 meters becomes a vegetal canvas composed of 24 varieties of 18 species of climbing plants, chosen carefully according to their location, orientation, compatibility, color, smell, etc. All vegetal treatment consists of planting local species easy to care.
