Martin Parr, internationally renowned photographer and a member of Magnum, shown in this exhibition a reality that Susan Sontag ventured into the 70, which shares some photographic creation logic to the hobby collector. His work investigates a social reality neglected so far: the middle class, which the artist himself feels part. And in tourism is where the values that characterize the new global middle class are expressed in an open and uninhibited. Like any other souvenirs, photography in the context of tourism makes sense for their ability to be collectible.
The exhibition brings together two collections: the artist, Martin Parr and stylist and interior designer Juanjo Fuentes. In both cases, it is a compulsive collecting and massive and systematic results in regard to an object type definition and interpretation difficult. Sources collection includes, without discrimination, an interesting selection of works by artists ranging from Joan Brossa to Tracy Emin through others of his generation as Peter G. Romero, Rogelio López Cuenca, Abraham Lacalle, Chema Cobo or Parr himself, along with a set of decorative banal. They are used to upholster literally home.
So, the exhibition will comprise a set of pieces, samples of the photographic work of Martin Parr, along with the collection of objects as Juanjo Fuentes is ready at his home in Malaga.
